The person behind the question

Jasmine Grindlay, founder of Pivotal Question

Jasmine Grindlay

With over two decades of experience in counselling, human behaviour, and trauma work, Jasmine founded Pivotal Question to bring transformative inquiry to those who are ready for real change.

Trained and certified in the Demartini Method, The Work of Byron Katie, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Jasmine brings a rare combination of structured methodology and compassionate directness to every session. Jasmine's approach isn't about telling you what to do — it's about asking the questions that help you see what you've been unable to see.

Her career has taken her from corporate boardrooms to some of the most challenging environments imaginable. Jasmine has worked extensively with the South African Police Service, providing trauma counselling to officers dealing with the psychological toll of frontline service — work that sharpened her ability to cut through defences with care and precision.

Whether working one-on-one or facilitating group workshops, Jasmine creates a space where honesty is safe, inquiry is rigorous, and transformation is not just possible but inevitable.

Grounded in methodology, not guesswork

The Demartini Method

A systematic, research-based methodology developed by Dr John Demartini that uses structured questions to dissolve emotional charges and bring perception into balance. It addresses the root of an issue rather than its symptoms.

The Work of Byron Katie

A powerful process of inquiry that teaches you to identify and question the thoughts that cause suffering. Four simple questions that, when applied with honesty, can dismantle a lifetime of limiting beliefs.

Trauma Counselling

Extensive experience in trauma-informed practice, working alongside community social workers and the South African Police Service in distressing situations and victim support. This background brings depth, sensitivity, and an unshakeable calm to even the most difficult conversations.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

A powerful set of tools for understanding and changing patterns of thought, communication, and behaviour. NLP provides practical techniques for reprogramming unhelpful responses and building new, empowering mental frameworks.

Human Behaviour

Deep study and practical experience in understanding why people do what they do — the values, perceptions, and unconscious patterns that drive behaviour and shape every decision.

"I don't have all the answers. But I have the questions that will help you find yours."
